NEWS: Exhibit opens to great acclaim

A special photographic exhibit sponsored by PFLAG Oak Park, "Love Makes a Family" opened at Unity Temple on Sept. 29. About 80 people attended the opening and stayed for a special performance by the About Face Youth Theatre performance in the Unity Temple sanctuary.

The group of five young performers each told a true story of a homeless youth in Chicago. These and other stories were gathered over a period of two years by interviews with the homeless. Each of these homeless GLBT youth had been kicked out, or pushed out of their homes because of their sexual orientation, or gender identification.

The exhibit has moved on to Oak Park River Forest High School, and will the move on to McHenry County College where it will run from Oct. 13 until Oct. 20.
