NEWS: PFLAG Oak Park shows its pride

Oak Park PFLAG joined other Illinois PFLAG chapters and some 250 other groups to march in the yearly Pride parade held in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. Some 80 members of PFLAG marched on the afternoon of June 26, handing out postcards for the upcoming "Stay Close" campaign which will be launched in Chicago soon. According to the Chicago Tribune, the parade garnered some 400,000 spectators.

NEWS: Books given away at Scoville Park

Oak Park PFLAG volunteers joined OPALGA members at a booth at the city's A Day in Our Village event in Scoville Park on June 5. The event is designed to provide the community with information on the range of social services available in Oak Park. During the afternoon, along with talking to a wide range of people, Oak Park PFLAG volunteers gave away some 50 copies of the book Out of the Closet and into Our Hearts, edited by Laura Siegel and Nancy Lamkin Olson.
