NEWS: Speakers set for Fall 2007

Speakers have been set for upcoming meetings of PFLAG Oak Park.

At the Sept. 23 meeting, Tony Alvarez Rivera of the Howard Brown Health Center will speak about a program to connect gay and lesbian youth with adult mentors.

At the Oct. 28 meeting, there will be two speakers: Julie Meredith Davis, a doctoral student at Western Michigan University will speak about her reserarch in generational differences in the coming out process for lesbians, and Nicholas Rutan, the new American Civil Liberties Union GLBT organizer for Illinois, will speak about HB1826 -Religious Freedoms Protection and Civil Unions Act.

Both meetings will be held as usual at 3 p.m. at First United Church, 848 Lake Street in Oak Park.
