NEWS: Love Makes a Family exhibit to make Oak Park debut in October

PFLAG Oak Park is bringing the photo exhibit "Love Makes a Family" to Oak Park in October. The exhibit consists of 20 black-and-white photos of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender families along with text written by family members. The exhibit will open at Unity Temple on September 29 then move to Oak Park River Forest High School on October 9 and closing October 13. A reception and entertainment by the About Face Youth Theater group in conjunction with the exhibit opening will be held on September 29.

PFLAG Oak Park is planning several fund-raising events for the project in the summer: The group will have bar nights on July 21 at Hideaway, and July 22 at Nutbush. On September 2, there will be a PFLAG baked goods stand at the Oak Park Farmers Market. Last year's baked good stands were incredibly successful due primarily to generous community support (and of course the excellent baked goods!) Please come by on these days and help PFLAG raise the money needed to bring "Love Makes a Family" to Oak Park.
